What is a Damage Survey?
Damage surveys for your boat may be necessary after storm or accident damage. They determine the extent of the damage and the cost of repairs. Often these are required by insurance companies after an unfortunate incident.
Also, during a damage Survey we are hired by an insurance company and the assignment is an inspection by an insurance company of something that has been damaged and for which an insurance claim has been made, in order to determine the extent and cause of damage.
IE: “The initial insurance estimate for hurricane damage was revised by nearly $3 billion because of more thorough damage surveys.”
