What is a Pre-Purchase Survey?
A pre-purchase survey is an inspection of all accessible areas of the vessel including hull structure, plumbing and electrical systems, an external inspection of engines and air handlers. This inspection is usually conducted both afloat and out of the water, in slings or on blocks.
The deck, superstructure and below waterline hull are examined visually and by way of random percussion testing, random moisture meter readings, and thermal imaging where applicable. In addition, a critical component of this inspection is a Trial Run so that all systems can be observed in operation. In addition, A value based on Similar vessels, in assumed similar condition with similar equipment currently for sale or have sold within the last year.
